The Pleasant Point Domain sits within a sheltered setting of mature trees, many planted in the late 19th century from stocks gifted after plantings at nearby Raincliff Station. Much of the land was acquired in 1873, with additional purchases in 1979 and 1985 linking it to the town boundary. Large trees remain a dominant feature when viewed from State Highway 8.

The Pleasant Point Domain Walk is a 2.6 km easy loop taking 30-60 minutes. It starts at the corner of State Highway 8 and George Street, passes the camping ground and golf course, and offers shade from large firs and natives with views toward the mountains. Birdlife includes pigeons and fantails (piwakawaka). Dogs are not permitted on this trail.
Motor Camp
The Pleasant Point Domain Motor Camp adjoins the domain and operates seasonally from early October to Easter weekend. It provides 26 powered sites, tent sites and 7 cabins, along with an ablution block including showers, kitchen and laundry facilities. Bookings are handled through the managers at the Pleasant Point Dairy.
